Secrets to finding your wedding hair style

Find your wedding hair style

A great secret to finding your wedding hair style is to pay attention to celebrity red carpet hair style events.

Most celebrities will have their hair professionaly done for these occasions and the hair styles are usually some sort of updo.

Once you see a hair style that you like, try to picture it with your wedding dress. Does it match the style and theme of your dress?

Coordinating your dress with your hair and the formality of your wedding is very important. If you have the wrong hair style, it can ruin everything.

For best results, schedule a trial run at the salon several weeks before your wedding. Then go home, with your wedding hair style, and try on your dress. Wear the style all day long to see if it will stand up to all the activity, i.e. dancing and moving around.
This is the best way to get the perfect hair style and look totally awesome for your big day. See Wedding Hair Styles

Going Short for your wedding
When you think of wedding hair styles, typically you will think of some sort of updo. But there are no hard and fast rules that you have to wear an updo hair style because you are getting married.
Recently the long, wavy hair style has come back as a favorite look for wedding day hair. This short style, worn by Ashley Judd, also has its place in the wedding hair selection gallery.
This blunt, short hair style will work great for a wedding day hair style. Combine it with a fancy necklace, earrings and you have the no-fuss wedding look.
If you want something a little extra, you could wear a jeweled tiara or maybe some flowers in your hair.

Simple Wedding Updos

Must wedding hair updos be so complicated that only an experienced hair stylist can create them?
Actually, a very simple updo, see photo left, not only looks fantastic as a wedding updo hair style, but it is also so easy that you can create it on your own.
Apply a styling cream throughout the hair and blow dry using a large round brush. Blow dry the hair straight. Run a flat iron of the hair from roots to ends to create an extra-smooth finish.
Next, gather all the hair and pull back into a mid-height ponytail. Next, twist the pony tail into a chignon and pin the ends inside.
Add long, diamond earrings to the style and you are good to go. This hair style will work well with any tiara, headpiece or veil that you want to attach.
It is always recommende that you do a trial run several weeks in advance. The trial run will give you the chance to practice creating this simple updo and also to see if it will hold up to a whole afternoon or evening of dancing and mingling.

Adding some sort of bangs to your wedding hair style can create an ultra-soft romantic look for your wedding.

To create this hair style, work a styling cream evenly through damp hair. Blow dry the hair using a large round brush to direct and position the hair. Part the hair deep on one side and use the round brush to direct the hair swooping accross your forehead.

Extra height in the crown area can be created by gently back combing small sections of hair and smoothing over the top with your fingers.

Then take out small sections of hair on each side of the face and use a curling iron to add corkscrew curls to the pieces.

Consider this style, that features a loose upsweep and side swept bangs.
To create this hair style, you should do a little back combing in the crown area to create height. Then smooth over the top with your fingers and pull all hair back into a loose, high pony tail.
Wrap sections of hair and twist the pony tail around and pin into place with hair clips.
You can add a jeweled tiara or headpiece to this hair style easily, as the crown area has plenty of room.

Would this be a totally glamorous wedding hair style? Just imagine adding beautiful diamond earrings, matching necklace and a small jeweled tiara with veil.
Create this style by pulling all hair in crown area back into a low ponytail. Split the pontail in two above the ponytail holder and pull the ends of the ponytail through it. Leave ends unsecured.
Add a glossing spray or shine serum to the crown area for the extra glossy look.
For added dimension you can add several highlights and lowlights throughout the hair as Jennifer Garner has done.

Wedding Hair Styles

Spring and summer weddings are just around the corner. Have you decided yet on how you will wear your hair?

It is always recommended that you schedule a trial run with your hair stylist. With a trial run you will be able to tell your stylist exactly what you are looking for and you will be able to see first hand if the style suits you and coordinates well with your prom dress.
A great option is to wear your hair down, long and wavy, see photo left. This type of hair style will go well with any type of wedding, whether formal or informal. You can jazz it up a bit with a tiara or a very decorative head piece.
Or just leave it simple and add a few flowers here and there.

Deciding on your wedding hair style

When you see the wedding hair style that you really like, you will need to try it on. There is nothing worse than putting your hair in an updo on your wedding day and deciding that it looks awful.

Scheduling a trial run: You can set up an appointment with your hair stylist to do a trial wedding hair style run. Schedule this appointment several weeks, even months before your big day. Bring lots of photo examples of the wedding hair style that you like and would like to have.

Advantages of a trial run: One big advantage of a trial run for your wedding hair style is that you will be able to see exactly what your hair will look like with your wedding dress on. Hopefully you will have your wedding dress in hand before your trial run.

You can wear your hair all day long to see how it it going to hold up. If you are wearing a fancy updo and you notice after a few hours that some of the hair pins are irritating you or making your scalp itch, you can make a note of this and address it with the hair stylist.

Many bad hair situations can be avoided with just a little bit of pre-planning.

Long Wedding Hair Styles

Want a Long, Wedding Hair Style?

Have you been searching all over for wedding hair styles and just love the look of the long hair style? Maybe you have short or medium length hair and you feel that long hair is out of the question.

Well, think again. Now you can have instant long, beautiful hair that looks completely natural in just a few hours time. It is done with what is called hair extensions that are attached in one of many different ways to your natural hair. There are different types of human and synethic hair that can be used.

The extensions can stay in your hair from several weeks to several months, depending on what method was used, the quality of the hair used and how well you maintain the extensions.

If you really like the look of the long hair style, why not check into hair extensions? Hair Resources has published a 155-page Consumer Report on all the different hair extension methods. Details included in the book include the average cost of various types of extensions, where the hair comes from (no it is not from dead people!), how the extensions are attached and removed, how long the hair extensions can last, what questions you need to be asking during the hair extension consultation and much more.

Improperly attached or removed hair extensions can cause serious damage to your natural hair, even cause permanent hair loss. If you do your research by understanding exactly how the extensions will be attached, make sure your stylist is properly trained and/or certified, then you may be able to avoid damaged hair.

Hair Extensions Exposed is a digital download Ebook, which means you read it right on your computer. You can start researching hair extensions just a few minutes from now. The book comes with a BONUS before/after hair extension gallery, hair extension comparison chart and a hair extension suitability test.

New Wedding Hair Styles

Great new wedding hair styles

The wedding styles shown here both feature a deep side part with a jeweled barrette on the shorter side. Hair is draped across the forehead to the other side.

Both of these hair styles will work great for those with a high forehead. The hair draped across the forehead helps to camouflage the forehead and help draw attention to the eyes.

Notice that both brides have eye shadow/liner and mascara expertly placed.

If you like one of these hair styles, it might be a good idea to make a copy and bring it to your hair stylist for a trial hair style run anywhere from 2-6 weeks before your wedding.

With a trial run, you will be able to see how your hair will hold up all day--whether those beautiful barrettes may be beautifully annoying! So, when your big day comes you will know what to expect and there won't be any surprises. The last thing a bride needs is surprises when it comes to her hair.

Also, keep in mind that many wedding hair styles, especially updo hair styles, will work better if your hair is not squeaky clean. For sure, don't wash your hair the day of your wedding. If you absolutely must wash your hair on your wedding day, then for sure don't use any conditioner. Conditioner will make your hair slipperly and this will make it very difficult for your hair style to stay in place.
